Celebrate the Biggest Night in Latin Music® with a Cocktail Inspired by J Balvin

Toast to the Latin GRAMMY Awards® nominees with La Familia, a cocktail made with Buchanan’s Scotch Whisky and inspired by global Latin music superstar and Latin GRAMMY® winner, J Balvin.
Created by mixologist, J.D. Marin, La Familia cocktail was inspired by their shared Colombian heritage and by their country’s traditional ingredients and flavors.

J Balvin, who is currently nominated for a Latin GRAMMY for Best Urban Music Album, Energía, recently partnered with Buchanan’s for its Es Nuestro Momento campaign, which aims to empower a new generation of Latinos with the belief that cultural pride is key to unlocking greatness.
Made with guava juice and accented with aguardiente, Latin GRAMMY viewers can enjoy a festive evening by recreating this delicious cocktail at home for family and friends.
La Familia is the perfect way to toast the deserving nominees’ hard work, determination, and achievements.


The Latin GRAMMY Awards® will take place on November 17 in Las Vegas. Buchanan’s celebrates the greatness in Latin music and is the official spirits sponsor of the Latin GRAMMY Awards® for the third consecutive year.

1 1/2 oz Buchanan’s DeLuxe

1 1/2 oz Guava Juice

1/2 Simple Syrup

1/2 oz Lemon Juice 

Aguardiente Antioqueño

Sparkling Wine or Champagne



1. Combine the Buchanan’s DeLuxe, guava juice, simple syrup, and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker and shake well.

2. Strain into a highball glass.

3. Add a splash of Aguardiente Antioqueño.

4. Top with sparkling wine or champagne.


Ideal Serve Glass:
